Director of Financial Aid
Newman University (www.newmanu.edu) invites applications for the position of Director of Financial Aid. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Director of Financial Aid is a key member of the Enrollment Management Team, supporting Newman’s mission and Strategic Enrollment Plan. The Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the financial aid of the University, including compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations and the delivery of financial aid services to students. The Director is responsible for leading the Financial Aid team by emphasizing student success, continuous learning, technological applications, the value of diversity, and visionary thinking.

Work Performed:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight in all aspects of the University’s administration of financial aid and related automated systems, PowerFAIDS and Jenzabar.
- Conduct data analysis, develop strategies, and evaluate packaging philosophies to inform decision making that supports student recruitment and retention.
- Ensure financial aid policies and programs are compliant with federal, state and university regulations.
- Direct the review, awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of all student financial aid funds.
- Provide support and counseling to resolve specialized and/or complex issues, train financial aid staff on policies and procedures.
- Maintain an on-going professional development program for financial aid staff, conducting annual performance evaluations.
- Work with the Athletic Department in the administration and awarding of Athletic Aid and in maintaining compliance with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletics Association) requirements.
- Oversee financial aid audits, program reviews, and required reporting.
- Maintain Title IV Participation Agreement with the US Department of Education.
- Offer financial aid workshops and participate in appropriate community events.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 4-5 years of direct experience in financial aid.
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, private financial aid programs, reporting, and regulations.
- Proven leadership ability and skills, and extensive experience in the administration of financial aid programs, including supervision, program development and evaluation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
