Employees want meaningful careers that enable them to grow and develop. If you don’t facilitate that, they will find an employer who does. Workforce retention strategies must be employee centered. Jonathan Franchell, writes in an article in Forbes,

The causes of employees leaving their jobs in droves are numerous: lack of empowerment in the workplace, employees feeling like they have no purpose or growth opportunities, poaching, a favorable market for candidates and toxic work cultures. A sense of purpose, feeling supported and cared about, and a learning, supportive culture are all important elements for employees. These components, along with feedback, play a significant role in enabling culture and keeping talent. Feedback, however, is often overlooked by companies, and this element is vital in any successful organization.”
