Our Hyatt-Fennell family is mourning the loss of Dr. Marylouise Fennell, who passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

The significance of Weezie’s indelible and lasting impact on the higher education community is felt worldwide through her extraordinary relationships and her life of meaningful service.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Marylouise Fennell entered the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas (Connecticut) in 1957 pledging her vow of service to the poor, the sick, and the uneducated.

Dr. Fennell devoted more than 50 years to higher education administration and executive search.

As an extension of her mission to fortify the U.S. higher education system with high quality, experienced leaders prepared to advance opportunities for students worldwide, Weezie co-founded Hyatt-Fennell to meet the growing need for specialized search services.

We will post the details of Weezie’s services, her obituary and career legacy as soon as they are made available.

Everyone who had the good fortune of meeting Weezie knows first-hand that she expected the best of you and, without exception, she gave you the very best of herself in return.  Her commitment to the essential elements of caring deeply for her personal and professional relationships was and will always be the guiding principle of Hyatt-Fennell.  In my life, the magnitude of her influence, leadership and friendship simply cannot be measured.

On behalf of the Hyatt-Fennell family, please join us in remembering the life, legacy and extraordinary spirit of Dr. Marylouise Fennell.

We invite you to share a personal memory of Weezie or an expression of her impact on your life and career as we celebrate our cherished friend, mentor and colleague whose light will remain a part of all of us forever.

Yours sincerely,

Cheryl
