The International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) (https://iacbe.org/), invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of President. IACBE, whose world headquarters are located in Overland Park, KS, is the leading outcomes-based programmatic accreditation agency for business and management education in colleges and universities world-wide.  IACBE is a council for higher education accreditation [CHEA] recognized programmatic accrediting body. The position would report to the board of directors of IACBE

While the offices of IACBE are located in Overland Park, KS., the President need not relocate to Kansas and can work remotely with regularly scheduled visits to the main office.  It is important that the next President has both a commitment and the energy to lead the Organization well into the future.  The President will uphold the Core Values of IACBE: Collegiality; Developmental Philosophy; and Responsiveness.

Mission

The mission of the IACBE is to advance academic quality in business programs through evidence-based accreditation that encourages institutions to build unique educational models to reflect their mission and vision.

Vision

To be the business program accreditor of choice for teaching-oriented institutions of higher education globally.

General Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the vision, development of, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Organization’s strategic plan to achieve the mission and goals of the Organization
  • Growth Leadership: Significantly increase membership growth both domestically and internationally by articulating the value proposition of the organization
  • Marketing and Recruitment Leadership: Represent the Organization in all activities related to marketing and membership recruitment
  • Operational Leadership: Develop, manage, and lead the operational infrastructure that supports the Organization’s ability to function effectively and efficiently
  • Financial Leadership: Lead financial decision-making and manage the Organization’s financial activities to ensure continued fiscal health and viability
  • Values Leadership: Lead the development of an inclusive organizational culture that embodies, reflects, and advances the principles and values of the Organization
  • Staff Leadership and Relations: Effectively lead and manage a high-performing team in order to advance the mission and goals of the Organization
  • Board Collaboration: Provide effective organization and communication with both the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners
  • Visionary/Operational Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to balance both visionary and operational leadership

Performance Measurement:

  • Annual Performance Appraisal by the Board of Directors
  • Annual Operational Review by the Board of Directors with feedback from auditors

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Ten or more years of proven leadership experience demonstrating success with a growth mindset and results
  • Demonstrate a consultative transformation mindset through evidence of prior consulting and outreach through guiding stakeholders toward a desired outcome
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with all organizational stakeholders
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and member constituents
  • Ability to lead a high-performing team necessary
  • Demonstrate experience with global teams and opportunities
  • Doctoral degree preferred, but a Master’s degree in a business-related field backed by proven experience, will be considered
  • Experience in higher education, business, and/or other / related not-for-profit areas
  • International experience of successfully dealing with intercultural environment a plus
  • Accreditation experience
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate both the value and uniqueness of IACBE
  • Competence in technology, including Microsoft and document-sharing products. Accreditation software experience is a plus.
