Viterbo University (www.viterbo.edu) is accepting nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (VPFA/CFO). Reporting to the President, the VPFA/CFO serves as the primary finance and business operations executive for Viterbo University. The VPFA/CFO oversees a staff of 50 employees and the university’s operating budget while also supporting innovation and serving as the chief investment officer of the university. The VPFA/CFO is responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive management for the business and administration operations of the university including financial planning, budgeting, accounting and business operations, financial controls, procurement, contracts, human resources, instructional and information technology, buildings and grounds, and the university bookstore.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a master’s degree in a finance-related discipline, have seven years of progressive experience in a similarly complex institution of higher education, possess proven success in strategic leadership and customer service, and demonstrated professional success and evidence of high-quality judgment in management and leadership of a wide range of business affairs activities.

Viterbo University, a Catholic, Franciscan university, located in beautiful La Crosse, WI—a city with a population of 52,000 in a metropolitan area of over 150,000, amid majestic bluffs and scenic valleys on the ­Mississippi River. It was founded in 1890 by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA) as St. Rose Normal School to prepare teachers. In 1937, the name changed to Viterbo College and to Viterbo University in 2000. Viterbo has a total of 2,457 students with a 11:1 student-to-faculty ratio, state-of-the-art facilities, and a faculty and staff that cares deeply about the success of each and every student.
