Interviews are best approached as collaborative and mutual: you are interviewing candidates while they simultaneously interview you. Together you are evaluating if this is a good fit for everyone. Here are three ways to demonstrate to candidates that your organization is as beneficial for them as they plan to be for you:
- Mission and motivation. Job seekers don’t just want a paycheck, they want a fulfilling vocation. Inspire them to see your vision and how the role they are interviewing for is an integral part of a meaningful mission.
- Growth opportunity. Show your candidates that you aren’t just hiring for one particular position, but for career longevity. Be clear about the avenues for ongoing skills development and upward mobility.
- Personal perspectives. Don’t expect candidates to take your word for it. Allow them to hear from current employees the things they enjoy about your organization. Starting with the support staff they interact with, enable them to see employees who are valued and energized.
